THE WAKE UP CALL

As the world begins to open, I was awoken at 3am and given this message “The Wake Up Call”. In this video we talk about God calling us as Christians out of the comfort of our churches into His harvest field - To wake up and become doers of the word.

Here's what we cover in this video:

  • What is God saying to us

  • What has God called us to, what is the works that he’s prepared for us to do and more importantly

  • How will we respond? What will we do about it?


This is quite a challenging message so brace, brace, brace..

  • Mark 16:15-20 15 And he said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.  16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.  17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;  18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover."  19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.  20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.


  • Matthew 28:16-20  16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them.  17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted.  18 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."


Prayer


I pray Lord of the harvest, sent out (which means to throw out with force), workers, labourers into your harvest, because the harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few. Holy Spirit break out, break down our walls, love find a way that we might go to the highways, the byways, the low places and the high places to bring the presence of the living God and have heaven touch earth wherever we may be, to advance the Kingdom of Jesus, for His glory.


Amen.



Prayer points

  • Pray that we as individuals and as the Church would have the courage to ask God what he would have us do, the boldness to step out and do it and the faith in Him to believe that He will do what He said He would do, through us.

  • Jesus emphasised not the readiness of the believer, but the readiness of the Harvest. Despite how we may feel, ask God to give us the compassion for the lost and the motivation to go and gather in His harvest.

  • As we as believers go out and preach the gospel everywhere, pray Mark 16:20 that the Lord would work with you and confirm His word with signs following.
