Mission to Montpellier, France November 2018

In November 2018 Raising Foundations put together and sent a team to Montpellier France for an epic 5 day adventure in God.

One of Raising Foundation's projects is to help support Wesley Hines in Montpellier who was a huge blessing to us while we were there. Wesley provided local knowledge, contacts and french translation to help us engage with the community around us.

You will never be the same once you have experienced the life and power of God in you as the Holy Spirit leads, guides and uses you to bless and minister life to those around you

It was wonderful to experience people from so many different backgrounds and nations come together in unity, prayer and fellowship because of their love for Jesus, glorifying Him whilst strengthening, teaching and encouraging one another.

We would also like to make special mention of and extend our thanks to Pastor John Coules, his wife Robyn and the members of the International Chapel of Montpellier, where we got to celebrate Thanksgiving, a Sunday service and enjoy fellowship together. What a loving, gracious and kind people they are! Be sure to look them up and include a visit to ICM in your travels to Montpellier. ICM generously provided food of which we were able to feed some of the hungry on the streets.

One of my favourite moments of this trip was the freedom experienced by a young man when baptised in the sea, which in November is winter in France and the water was icy cold. Baptism is both a grave where you die with Christ and bury that old selfish nature that you may be raised with him in newness of life

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. Roman 6:4

and its a bath where having repented you wash away your sins

And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptised and wash your sins away, calling on his name.' Acts 22:16

Experiencing Jesus in such a personal way both men came out of that water changed - Just beautiful!
